Unique
Partnership May Serve as a National Model
White Hat Management is partnering with a Catholic charity to
open three new Life Skills Centers in Detroit. Under this unique
partnership, White Hat and Covenant House Michigan may set a
national precedent as a model between a community-based organization
and education management company to provide an educational
alternative for high-risk youth.
Covenant House, known for serving runaways and homeless youth, is
chartering the schools from Detroit Public Schools to provide an
alternative for dropouts and those seeking an alternative education.
Their similar missions to support and inspire our youth drew
White Hat and Covenant House to one another. One of Covenant House’s
primary goals was to provide an educational element of service but
not get in the business of teaching. As a partner, White Hat will
provide the educational delivery system.
In September, Covenant House Life Skills Center West will open in
the former Holy Redeemer High School building, Covenant House Life
Skills Center East in a former Detroit Public School building and
Covenant House Life Skills Center Central will open in December on
the present Covenant House campus in Detroit.
